The United Nations Global Compact has launched the second edition of its Climate Ambition Accelerator program, which Arteche has joined. This initiative will enable companies to reduce global emissions by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050 by setting science-based targets.
More than 700 companies from 54 local networks around the world are participating in this second edition.
Sustainability is in our DNA
Fighting the climate emergency remains one of the main fronts of European and global institutions, in which context they seek to engage companies with the Climate Ambition Accelerator program to adapt their business models to more sustainable ones and reduce their carbon emissions.
To that end, in the last year we at Arteche have reduced B-type diesel consumption by 20.5%, reduced hazardous waste generation by 44% (of which 60.8% has been recycled), recycled 53% of the non-hazardous waste generated, reduced Scope 1 emissions by 2.7%, reduced electricity consumption and Scope 2 emissions by 4.5%, started to measure and manage Scope 3 emissions, and have not experienced any environmental incidents. These data were recently made public in our Sustainability Report.
Year after year, we at Arteche are implementing the measures included in our plans to care for the environment we live in, working towards a horizon in which we are #MovingTogether and increasingly sustainable and respectful of the environment.
