The high performance relays for critical applications have been included in the Déluge Ariane 6 Project. This system is one of the most critical of the ground facilities at the launch site of the new European Space Agency (ESA) launch vehicle, Ariane 6.

Our time delay relays form the main core of the Déluge Ariane 6 system implemented in the Launch Zone (ZL4). This system is responsible for performing the acoustic and thermal protection function on each Ariane 6 launch.

This system is composed of a set of pipes and valves that project water jets in different places of the ZL4 Launch Zone. It is made up of four subsystems:

  • Déluge Table (noise protection),
  • Déluge Carneau (noise protection),
  • Déluge Guide Jet (thermal protection around the main Vulcain engine),
  • Déluge Déflecteur (thermal protection).

The Déluge Table and the Déluge Carneau are activated during the final sequence by an automatic system composed of our time delay relays TDJ8.

With more than 60 years of experience in manufacturing high quality relays, Arteche is today an international reference in critical applications where safety, reliability, and performance are not an option, which is why the company in charge of this project chose Arteche.
