Code of ethics and behaviour guidelines
In Arteche we have a Code of Ethical Behavior that states the principles and values that should guide us when developing our professional activity and in regard to the way we relate to each other. We have to remember that, to others, each of the people who make up Arteche are the company’s face and they represent our values as a company, values which have guided us for the last 75 years.
At Arteche, we are committed to developing the necessary procedures in order to make the fulfillment of this Code of Ethical Behavior possible and to promote its application, not only among its companies but also with clients, suppliers, collaborators, and institutions.
Sustainability as a fundamental axis
At Arteche, sustainability plays a very important role, which is why in 2014 we signed the so-called United Nations Global Compact. By doing this, we have made a pledge to fulfill the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development approved by the UN in 2015, in which the signatories committed themselves to basic principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption, all of which are universally agreed upon. .
One outcome of Arteche's commitment to sustainable development and the 2030 agenda, was that in 2019 we set up a global executive body (led by the company's top executive, the Chairman and CEO) called the Sustainability Committee. This Committee is in charge of actively promoting sustainable development: working towards social progress, environmental balance and economic growth.
Commitment to equal opportunities
The Arteche Group's Management Team is eager to ensure true equal opportunity for men and women, both in its internal structure as well as in the service it provides to its customers. Thus, it is publicly announcing this commitment as evidence of the company's efforts to achieve this objective and as a strategic principle, in accordance with the definition set forth by Organic Law 3/2007 of 22 March on true equality between men and women.
This project is aligned with our corporate values and included in the areas of "People and Organization" and "Social and Environmental Responsibility".
In order to carry out this project, the Arteche Group has agreed to draw up an equality plan which will consist of the objectives, strategies and practices to be adopted in the specific areas recommended by law.
An Equality Committee will be created to ensure transparency in the Equality Plan's implementation. This Committee, an essential part of this entire process, will include the Social Department and the workers' legal representation. Its initial task will be to conduct an assessment of equality in the company.
As we are aware that people are the main players in the adoption of these measures, their participation will be encouraged at various times in order to gather information on their opinions, needs and suggestions in this regard. There will also be fluid communication both internally, to provide information on the progress of the process and the decisions that are being prioritized in the Equality Plan, and externally, to convey a corporate image that conforms to the principle of equality between men and women.
