Ultra-High Voltage Laboratory
The Ultra-High Voltage Laboratory, that allows testing instrument transformers up to 1200 kV, is a resource so that ARTECHE continues at the forefront of innovation and the technological development of the electric power industry.
It is a Laboratory for Arteche’s present, and designed for the future of the electric power industry, capable of handling voltage levels higher than the highest ones used today.
It is a 54-meter long, 30-meter wide and 27-meter high Faraday cage with capacity for carrying out routine, type and special tests on instrument transformers under any international standard. Its polished metal facade seems to vibrate and crack along the perimeter, blending into its environment, characterized by vegetation and significantly lower buildings.
