Arteche's capacitive voltage transformers contribute to the modernization of Saudi Aramco's oldest refinery

Arteche is contributing to the modernization of the Ras Tanura refinery by supplying it with our capacitive voltage transformers. The Ras Tanura refinery, owned by Saudi state-owned company Saudi Aramco, is the oldest refinery in the Persian Gulf and produces 550,000 barrels of oil per day.

This facility is part of the company's history. It began its operations in 1945, just seven years after oil was first found in the country. It originally had a production capacity of 60,000 barrels per day.

It has now undertaken a modernization project that includes both the refurbishment of existing facilities and the construction of new ones, with the main aim of producing cleaner fuels and thus complying with the Euro 5 standard.

For this project, we supplied our DFK-245 to Saudi Arabia for the first time. They are 245kV capacitor voltage transformers which additionally offer the possibility to transmit high frequency signals through the power lines. In the last decade, we supplied almost 30,000 of these high voltage devices to more than 70 countries.

Being locally stablished enables us to offer closer attention to all our customers and respond to their needs as required. As a result, we have gained the trust and confidence of major companies, such as: SEC / National Grid and ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia, PDO, OETC and all Distribution Companies in Oman, MEW, KNPC and KOC in Kuweit, among others.
