We have successfully passed the first internal arc fault test by State Grid Corporation of China, Chinese Power Utility, according to its new safety requirements for high-voltage equipment. Our high voltage current transformer, CA-245, oil insulated, has been the first one passing this test in China.
The internal arc test is performed on a real transformer, equipped with all the accessories and in service conditions. An internal fault in made, a current that will cause its explosion is applied. The objective is to check its behavior in such circumstances.
As experts with 75 years of experience in high voltage measurement, we helped CEPRI, China Electric Power Research Institute, to formulate the guide for internal arc fault test of current transformers. This will help improve the operational safety of high-voltage transformers.
